Optomi, in partnership with a leading video surveillance service provider, is seeking a Director of Product Management for their Plano, Texas location! This position requires an experienced Product Manager with 10+ years of experience in a Product Management role. The ideal Director of Product Management will have a background with a focus in video products and technologies and a deep understanding of computer vision products, algorithms and techniques. This role requires a candidate with strong business acumen and the ability to align products with strategic business goals. The perfect Director of Product Management will have worked in an agile development environment and possess strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making. Experience of the right candidate:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Product Manager, ideally with a focus on video products and technologies.
  • Bachelor's of Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful products.
  • Deep understanding of middleware/API's in relation to product development.
  • Experience working in an agile environment with proficiency in agile methodologies and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.



Responsibilities of the right candidate:

  • Acts as Product Management Representative to key customers by providing thought leadership on products and solutions to business problems.
  • Collaborates with sales and engineering teams to translate strategic direction into clear product objectives, feature description and roadmaps.
  • Provides a clear vision and compelling leadership to all product stakeholders on product strategies and solutions to business problems.
  • Provides strategic product/solution leadership by collaborating with Industry team to set product strategic direction and communicating this direction to all stakeholders.
  • Researches, evaluates, and recommends product packaging/bundling/pricing alternatives and third-party partnerships to Executive team. Seeks and follows through on opportunities to improve inter-team relationships and understanding.
  • Ensures that product strategy drives revenue growth, competitive differentiation, and customer value.
  • Owner for the product decision and gate process for successful product launch.
  • Coordinates across product lines to ensure alignment of individual roadmaps to strategic and corporate objectives.
  • Communicates product strategies and direction in a compelling manner.
  • Define and document Market requirements and High-Level Design for features.
  • Cares for and develops key customer and industry relationships by conducting customer and prospect needs research and maintaining key industry contacts.
  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI/ML in alignment with the overall business objectives.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer insights to identify market opportunities and drive product innovation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define product requirements, prioritize features, and set measurable goals for product success.
  • Define go to market strategy, pricing models for maximum penetration at highest levels of profitability.
  • Lead a team of product managers in the defining of our products, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Drive the end-to-end product development process, including ideation, prototyping, testing, and launch with Engineering and Delivery team.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to translate product requirements into technical specifications and ensure the successful implementation of products.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance, user feedback, and market trends to continuously improve the product and enhance user experience.
  • Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to ensure seamless integration of our technologies into the product ecosystem.
  • Partner with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies, positioning, and messaging for our products.
  • Support sales enablement activities by providing product training, documentation, and competitive insights.
  • Engage with customers, prospects, and industry experts to gather feedback, understand user needs, and identify opportunities for product enhancements.
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to the product team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in technologies related to our portfolio, and guide the team in adopting emerging practices and methodologies.
