Our client is seeking a savvy Director of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement with specialized expertise in CPG food.
Food commodity/raw ingredients experience is a MUST have, along with working for a CPG food manufacturing company.
The Director will:
Spearhead the development of innovative sourcing strategies to enhance cost-effectiveness, performance, and quality across the board.
Develop and execute short- and long-term commodity and risk management strategies.
Drive continuous improvement through robust KPI reporting and analysis, leveraging market trends and supplier insights to inform strategic decisions.
Oversee all aspects of procurement, from RFQs/RFPs to contract negotiation and supplier relationship management, ensuring seamless operations and cost optimization.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to streamline production planning and optimize the S&OP process.
Partner with R&D and Quality Assurance to source and qualify raw materials, prioritizing cost savings without compromising on quality.
Champion vendor quality initiatives and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 8 years of sourcing and procurement experience in a manufacturing environment; prior food manufacturing or CPG experience is a strong plus.
Demonstrated track record of growth in procurement and team management.
Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Must have a hands-on and “roll up your sleeves” work ethic and capable of working though the range of sourcing strategy as well as the details of daily procurement execution
Solid understanding and experience of purchasing strategies and inventory management.
Proven analytical and decision-making skills to support effective buying decisions, problem resolution, process improvements cost reductions, etc.
Experience in managing and developing a team.
Effective communication skills and ability to work well with teams and cross-functionally.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
