Director of Procurement Operations and Supply Chain

Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, the Director of Procurement manages all day-to-day

operations related to procurement services. Highly advanced, professional, and specialized supervisor work activities for success including the preparation, review, and processing of contracts, formal bids, requests for qualification (RFQ), requests for proposal (RFP), and purchase orders. Develops, implements, and interprets policies and ensures compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations. Develops a high-performance procurement team and exceeds established key performance indicators regarding employee safety, food safety and product quality, production, order fulfillment, and employee training. Must put an emphasis on continuous improvement and performance enhancement utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles. Deep understanding of supply chain management principles.


Key Responsibilities

- Organizes and administers various procurement activities.

- Examines requisitions and prepares solicitation documents to include Requests for Proposals,

Invitations for Bids, Requests for Qualifications, and multi-year procurement packages. Facilitates the competitive solicitations process from the time the request has been received through the signing and issuance of a Purchase Order.

- Prepares schedules for opening of bids; participates in opening and tabulating quotes;

recommends award of quotes on a basis of analysis made.

- Oversees the development, negotiation, quoting, and awarding of contractual agreements.

- Consults with departmental officials regarding their supply, equipment, and service needs, and

reviews purchase requests; makes decisions regarding methods of purchasing.

- Oversees the compilation of statistics covering sales by vendor, classification, and item, and the maintenance of other records necessary to systematic purchasing.

- Oversees correspondence and interviews with vendors and their representatives regarding price changes, discounts, shipping methods, adjustments, cancellations, and contracted services.

- Supervises direct reporting personnel, and the preparation of specifications, scope of work, or

scope of services and/or contract terms and conditions.

- Must conduct training for identifying, developing, and facilitating training on Purchasing policies and procedures.

- Analyzes current procurement activities and recommends improvements through more efficient procurement methods to maximize delivery.

- Assists in the development of departmental rules and regulations, procurement policies and procedures. - Supervises a staff of purchasing personnel engaged in obtaining contracts, controlling purchasing records, and related purchasing activities. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of supervised staff.

- Other duties may be assigned.


Key Skills and Experience Required

- Must be able to work in high energy, detail oriented, ability to prioritize, multitask and hands-on with strong background in Food and Beverage manufacturing preferred.

- NetSuite experience preferred.

- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; excellent grammar and strong

writing/editing and proofreading skills for presentations with all levels of management and team

members.

- Be able to effectively work in a team environment.

- Ability to be flexible / manage change and work well under pressure.

- Demonstrate integrity and dedication and have a positive work attitude and strong work ethic.

- Ability to work extended shifts and flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and Holidays.

- Effectively utilize a “Collaborative Team Approach” in all situations.

- Ability to challenge current state and be motivated to improve the business; ability to influence

without authority at all levels of the organization.

- Ability to perform moderately complex and diverse tasks with minimal supervision.

- Excellent team dynamics skills focused on strong team leadership.

confidence.

- Develop cost-based analysis to help justify costs associated with key process solutions.

- Responsible for meeting and exceeding timing, goals, and objectives on assignments.

- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all initiatives they are managing.

- Display an innovative and entrepreneurial approach to projects.
