The Director of Procurement will oversee and manage the procurement of key equipment necessary for the construction of renewable energy projects (Wind, Solar, BESS). This will include developing and implementing procurement strategies, identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring the timely delivery of equipment while maintaining high quality standards.
Role
Lead all strategic procurement activities to support the development and construction of grid-scale wind, solar and battery storage projects.
Establish and maintain strategic relationships with OEMs of major wind, solar and storage equipment.
Responsible for developing the contracting strategy for procurement of major equipment to fit with the goals and risk profile of the project and the company.
Provide feedback into the conceptual and detailed design process.
Manage procurement RFPs to determine best-fit suppliers for major equipment and services.
Serve as main point of contact for the RFP bidding process; scheduling and managing Q & A sessions,
response deadlines, proposal deliverables and supplier feedback.
Analyze bids and qualify vendors based on quality, cost and contractual terms and provide
recommendations to senior management team.
Collaborate effectively with the Development, Commercial, EPC and Interconnection teams to
ensure alignment on equipment selection.
Work with counsel to develop and manage equipment supply agreements to ensure terms and
conditions align with market expectations and all applicable project requirements.
Manage contracts post-execution to ensure all contractual obligations are administered and fulfilled on time and in accordance with budget and equipment specifications.
Remain aware of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and national industry trends
impacting the future of wind, solar, BESS and renewables development.
Monitor risks associated with renewable equipment supply chain and procurement and develop
mitigation strategies.
Maintain forward-looking technology and cost projections for all wind, solar and storage major
equipment.

Requirements
Bachelor's in engineering, supply chain management or business preferred.
Significant work experience with a leading IPP, utility or renewable developer.
Proven record of accomplishment in wind, solar and renewable energy development.
Knowledge and experience with sourcing/procuring solar, wind and energy storage major equipment
and services.
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues and to prioritize critical path tasks.
Demonstratable experience in renewable energy project development - Wind and Solar *
Preferably have led full project lifecycle completion of multiple power generation projects
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues and to prioritize critical path tasks
Exceptional process and project management skills.
Strong commercial negotiation skills, with an understanding of the legal aspects of major equipment supply contracting.
Professional presence and strong communication skills.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
