ML Talent Strategies is helping a dynamic, team-oriented client in the commercial construction industry search for a Director of Preconstruction. This person will leverage their expertise to make sense of complex preconstruction documentation, projects, and issues with our clients, as well as lead a team of experienced preconstruction professionals and manage their workflow.


What You'll Do


  • Analyze preconstruction documents such as plans, costs, budgets, schedules, surveys, etc.
  • Identify risks, abnormalities, and/or areas of concern based on documentation and communicate that back to our clients in a professional manner.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of provided cost breakdown to complete the described project.
  • Assign projects and manage the individual workflow of the team members.
  • Provide final review for reports completed in the department before sending to clients.
  • Take difficult, new, or last-minute projects as needed.
  • Address client questions and requests.
  • Train team members on procedures and ensure proper execution; find opportunities to improve current training/processes.
  • Support and encourage personal and professional development of team members.
  • Assist with additional company projects as needed.

What You Bring


  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial pre-construction roles.
  • 5+ years experience leading and managing a team; leading Project Managers or equivalent level employees preferred.
  • Subject matter expert in commercial pre-construction documents, costs, and typical processes.
  • Proven ability to manage client relations.
  • Proven ability to increase team member performance.
  • Command of Microsoft Office with high proficiency in Excel.
