Director of Player Development

Coastal Carolina University invites applications for the Director of Player Development position within the PGA Golf Management Program in the Wall College of Business.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to providing comprehensive education and training to future golf industry professionals. This role involves teaching the PGA PGM curriculum and overseeing the Player Development Program, ensuring that enrolled students receive the guidance and support necessary to enhance their playing abilities.

Must be able to work outdoors in the elements throughout the year. Must be able to regularly move around campus, from office building to golf course/clubhouse. Must be able to physically provide one-on-one golf instruction to students. This position communicates course instruction to students and communicates program information to faculty and staff within the college. Must be able to work at a computer workstation and operate standard office equipment (computer, printer, copier, scanner, telephone).

Director of Player Development (AH40/61121876), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 06. Salary range: $45,530.00 (minimum) - $64,885.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. This position requires occasional domestic travel to attend conferences and PGM program events.

Directs player development programming for the PGA Golf Management program

Teaches Advanced Golf Instruction (PGA*401, 3 credits) once per semester. May teach additional PGA courses to meet the needs of the department. Follows all college and University processes and procedures for recording absences, reporting grades, etc.

Completes and submits student progress reports to the PGA of America.

Conducts workshops to prepare students for internship experiences.

Develops and maintains knowledge of current golf instruction practices and industry standards in technology.
