Primary Talent Partners has a contract opening for a Director of Photography with one of our clients in Arlington, VA. This is a 1-month contract opening with the potential for extension.
Pay Range: $45- $53- W2, no PTO or Benefits included

Candidates will require 6+ years relevant experience + 3 years in leadership roles for consideration.
Bachelor’s degree Required.
We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Director of Photography to join our team.
We value creative vision and technical expertise, and we’re looking for someone who can bring both to our productions.
During the contract, you will be leading the production planning for various recording requests, scouting locations, and coaching the crew on production planning and set up.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor the video production crew.
Develop and implement visual strategies for various video types including documentaries, interviews, social media, etc.
Collaborate with stakeholders to conceptualize and visually interpret video projects.
Communicate clearly and effectively with the production crew, providing direction and feedback.
Conduct pre-production meetings to discuss technical requirements, locations, and logistics.
Scout locations for suitability.
Oversee all aspects of cinematography, including lighting, camera operation, and shot composition.
Ensure shoot composition is aesthetically pleasing and meets technical and production standards.
Implement advanced lighting techniques to create mood and atmosphere.
Utilize various lenses, filters, and other tools to achieve desired visual effects.
Coordinate with crew to ensure set, props and other elements are compatible with camera equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during production.
Ensure the visual consistency and quality of all video content produced.
Review and critique footage to ensure high standards are maintained.
Conduct post-production debrief to provide feedback and coaching to crew.
Schedule:
22-26 July: 40 hours (8 hours x 5 days)
29-30 July: 16 hours (8 hours x 2 days)
5-9 August: 40 hours (8 hours x 5 days)
12-16 August: 40 hours (8 hours x 5 days)
Qualifications:
Proficient in industry-standard camera equipment and editing software.
Strong understanding of lighting, composition, and color theory.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
