Fanatics Collectibles is seeking a highly talented and experienced Director of Photography to join our team. The Director of Photography will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's photography needs, including planning, organizing, and executing photo shoots for trading card collections, and interfacing with our major image licensors.
The successful candidate for this position will have a strong background in photography, with a proven track record of producing high-quality visual content, preferably in the field of professional sports.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Collaborate with creative, product and editorial teams to define imagery needs, scope of work and artistic direction for a broad portfolio of domestic and international sports leagues to ensure consistent quality and adherence to brand guidelines.
Provide oversight of the photo retouching process, to ensure the quality of image selection, cropping, retouching, color correction meet expected standards, while working to streamline the process to improve efficiency without compromising quality.
Plan and coordinate photo shoots for various trading card collections and licenses, including scouting locations and managing production teams.
Maintain a digital asset management system to organize, store and retrieve images efficiently, ensuring proper tagging, metadata and version control.
Liaison with legal team to help negotiate image rights deals with image licensors, photographers and creative professionals.
Maintain broad national network of freelance photographers and serve as primary point of contact with photography suppliers such as Getty and Associated Press.
Manage usage reporting and licensing of image assets across portfolios.
Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging techniques in photo editing, continually seeking opportunities to enhance visual storytelling through innovative editing methods and tools.
Qualifications
8 to 10+ years of relevant work experience
Proven experience running photo shoots.
Strong creative vision and aesthetic sense.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshelter, and other photo editing / asset management software.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
In NYC, the salary range for this position is $134,000- $168,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. This salary range is specific to NYC and may not be applicable to other locations. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
