The Director, Patient HUB will be responsible for all aspects operational management of the patient support programs for Merz’s therapies.


This essential role is responsible for managing the interface and operations of the patient services Hub, all patient access and support services, including monitoring all KPI’s associated with an effortless patient journey. This individual will be responsible for working with the Specialty Pharmacies, Nurse Navigators’ Program, the call center staff, and interfaces with all key internal stakeholders.

Areas of focus:

  • Manage HUB vendors and partners for external patient support and functions.
  • Monitor and manage the day-to-day relationship, operations, and performance of highly customer-focused HUB/Patients access call center (including call-center support, copay card, patient assistance program, and all on-going support, etc.)
  • Manage the Specialty Pharmacies (SP’s), 3rd party data aggregator.
  • Maintains an expert understanding of competitive healthcare landscape and emerging market trends to best positions the organization for success
  • Leads operational excellence across PSP vendors and ensures business success
  • Designs and leads continual improvement and qualitative initiatives to improve patient outcomes
  • Leads planning/execution of strategic and operational plans, and KPI monitoring
  • Monitors/manages processes that ensure PSPs meet key regulatory and legal complain requirements
  • Develops and implements performance management processes to ensure comprehensive inspection and continual improvement of activities
  • Utilizes project management skills, methodologies, and tools to align on requirements, timelines, deliverables, and success measures
  • Source new, innovative vendors as needed that could transform or streamline patient access processes & experiences
  • Identify variance between actual and budgeted financial results at the end of each reporting period and communicates/escalates discrepancies accordingly


Professional experience

Minimum 10 years of biopharma experience.

Minimum 5 years of biopharma HUB-related patient support experience.

Knowledgeable on both Part D and Part B administered therapies is Required

Knowledge of HIPPA regulations, patient privacy and other legal polices is Required

Excellent project management ability. High attention to detail, diligence and reliability is Required


Knowledge, skills and abilities

-Strong understand of Part D and Part B

Knowledge base pertaining to physician-administered injectables, CPT and/or J code reimbursement, Specialty Pharmacy and Buy & Bill acquisition, Benefit Verifications, Prior Authorizations is Required

- Excellent collaboration skills, critical thinking, and a high level of competence in product reimbursement (coverage, coding and payment) for pharmaceutical products (including specialty pharmaceuticals), patient confidentiality and product access requirements is Required

- Successful leadership, project management, and presentation skills, including proven ability to manage through a "highly matrix" environment is Required

- Ability to interpret and integrate business strategies into actionable patient access initiatives is Required
