Bray Executive Search is a national executive search firm specializing in wealth management for ultra-affluent family clients. We have been retained by an independent RIA seeking a Director of Operations for their office in Austin, TX. For the highly qualified candidate, the firm will consider making this a COO role, or preferably, promote the Director role to the firm COO in a rapid time frame based on performance evaluation.  The firm will consider relocation for the right candidate. The firm will consider relocation for the right candidate with legal US work authorization.

They have a platform and business model for the HNW client segment, and customized solutions for the entire UHNW family enterprise. The firm provides an encompassing, holistic scope of services for HNW/UHNW clients. Services include investment management (including private investments), family office services, comprehensive planning including estate, tax, and legacy, philanthropy and private foundation services, trust and fiduciary services, governance, and state-of-the-industry multi-generational education offerings.


The Director of Operations is a key hire responsible for developing a standardized, systematized operational infrastructure to allow the firm to continue scaling and expanded growth. Applicants should have 7+ years of experience in building the infrastructure of a growing independent advisory firm and ideally, in leading an operational team. This position will have indirect support staff and will be heavily involved in understanding and working within the primary systems to define and refine the configurations. Additionally, the director of operations will be instrumental in collaborating with the various groups to define the BP hand-offs between groups and determine which can be systematized.


Responsibilities will include:

·      Support CCO in compliance-related tasks and data-gathering; work with the teams to map current business processes and develop operations manual 

·      Work with management team to identify, define, and regularly report on core business metrics and dimensions 

·      Evaluate platform, benchmark vendors to industry standards, and identify any opportunities for improvement in vendor stack

·      Oversee office IT services and ensure cybersecurity program aligns with industry best practices; develop necessary system infrastructure for successful integration of future offices and advisors

·      Lead system and data conversion processes related to acquisitions, system replacements, and new applications

Qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of operations experience in the wealth management or financial series industry

·      Experience with RIA reporting/trading software (Tamarac or Addepar preferred), CRM products (Salesforce preferred), financial planning software, and custodial websites (Fidelity) preferred

·      High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
