Job Description:


MEI has a job opportunity for a highly experienced and strategic Director of Operations to join our team. As the Director of Operations, you will play a significant role in leading and optimizing daily operations, ensuring efficiency and strategic growth. Key responsibilities include implementing operational strategies, managing resources, overseeing process optimization and quality assurance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role will collaborate with various departments to support overall business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with experience in driving operational excellence within the engineering or construction industry.



Job Duties:


  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives, specifically tailored to engineering design projects.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s design processes and project delivery.
  • Lead and manage the operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to set and achieve operational goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and budgetary targets related to engineering projects.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Optimize resource allocation and process workflows to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve project delivery timelines.
  • Analyze operational data and reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions specific to engineering operations.
  • Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships, establish and manage processes/procedures, and ensure cost-effectiveness and service quality in project delivery.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives to support business growth, operational efficiency, and design excellence.
  • Develop and mentor staff, fostering a culture of professional development, knowledge sharing, and succession planning within the team.



Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited university, with a preference for engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing operations in the engineering industry or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experienced in developing executive level reports and presenting to executive level audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational strategies tailored to electrical engineering design projects.
  • Experience with project management software, such as Teamwork and Procore
  • Experience with file storage systems, such as Sharepoint and Egnyte



Preferred Qualifications:


  • MBA or advanced degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Active Professional Engineering (PE) License
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices, with a focus on engineering design projects.
