- Oversee all warehouse operations, including scheduling systems, shipping and receiving, loading dock activity, delivery and transportation, food storage, food reclamation, shopping floor, and opening and closing procedures.
- Manage and lead the warehouse staff, ensuring high performance standards for receiving and handling delivery orders, picking orders, and shipping products.
- Maintain a structured receipting and distribution process, providing excellent customer service to food pantry partners and donors.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve key performance indicators such as damages, incident rates, overtime, pick rates, and accuracy.
- Ensure inventory is distributed safely, timely, and efficiently to identified distribution partners.
- Establish and maintain workflow processes to meet poundage delivery goals and performance standards.
- Collaborate with the COO, Inventory Control Manager, Director of Facilities, and Director of Compliance to ensure compliance with OSHA, Fire Department, USDA, DOT, Feeding America, and AIB requirements and all Federal, State, and Local codes.
- Serve as a member of the safety team.
- Quantitative, analytical, customer service, project management, organizational, time-management, and budgeting skills.
- Proven problem solver with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including building effective teams, delegation with authority and accountability, strategic management, conflict management, and coaching/mentoring.
- Proficiency with MS Office software and web-based software programs.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, donors, agencies, vendors, and local community members.
- Effective communication skills with people of diverse backgrounds and socio-economic levels across various channels.
- Ability to understand and interpret reporting and compliance requirements of various programs.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Extensive, relevant work experience (over ten years) in non-profit programs, food service distribution, and food banking.
- Work is performed in an open office environment at a computer screen for extended periods
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
- Some travel during the business day is required in the Lowcountry Food Bank's service areas.
- Expected to attend occasional special events that may occur in the evenings or on weekends
