Dominican Center’s mission is to work with Amani residents and partners to build a better future. Dominican Center serves as the anchor organization for the Amani neighborhood, connecting residents with stakeholders. As the anchor organization, our work supports the residents’ priorities: Housing & Economic Development, Education & Family Well-being, Neighborhood Safety & Block Ambassadors, and Youth Organizing/Moody Park Activation. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations & Administration is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the organization. Specifically, the Director of Operations & Administration will serve alongside the Executive Director in overseeing the business side of the house as well as providing support to the Dominican Center team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees day-to-day operations ensuring efficiency and alignment with organizational goals. This includes Human Resource functions such as payroll, talent acquisition, onboarding, and offboarding
Develops and implements strategies to optimize business processes and enhance operational performance
Creates and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance and streamline operations
Understands the organization’s budget and assists with the budgeting process, including budget creation and management
Manages relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and equity
Assists with developing and sustaining partnerships
Facilitate clear communication within the organization and serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
Supervise administrative staff that have responsibilities including managing and maintaining office supplies, payroll tasks, bookkeeping, recordkeeping, employee files, etc. Foster a collaborative and positive working environment
Designs and implements special projects
Other duties as assigned

Proficient computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in project management and organizational tools is a strong plus
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management or a related field (organizational development, human resources, etc.); MBA preferred
Aligned work experience can be considered in place of a degree
Demonstrated experience in operations and administration, with 3-5 years of a proven track record of successful leadership
Excellent leadership and team management experience. Experience with matrix reporting is a plus
Experience working with databases and project management platforms
QuickBooks experience is preferred
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
Must be able to function in a loud environment with high-energy
Ability to interact with diverse people
Must be able to work in a variety of environments
