We are seeking a Director of Nursing Services to join our team! The Director of Nursing Services will provide oversight of nursing services for people supported in the agency's residential program.
Location: Nassau & Suffolk County, NY
Position: Full time
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (flexible)
Salary: $95,000 - $105,000
Responsibilities
participates in screening, interviewing, onboarding, directing, mentoring, and scheduling nursing staff and medical counselors
communicates job expectations and provides performance reviews
provides regular and ongoing on-site support to the nursing and medical support staff
on call for medical guidance for RNs and direct support staff
develops nursing procedures that reflect current clinical best practices, professional standards, and agency philosophy of care
provides initial and ongoing training to ensure appropriate service provision
oversees the coordination of medical support for new admissions, internal transfers, and discharges of people in the residential programs
ensures all medical treatment in the residential programs are appropriate, timely, and documented in accordance with OPWDD regulations, NYS Mental Hygiene Law, and Community Mainstreaming Associates, Inc. policies and procedures
Qualifications
NYS Registered Nurse Licensure
Bachelor's degree in nursing
at least three years of experience in a clinical setting providing quality nursing support
at least one year in a supervisory position in a residential facility, preferably an OPWDD program
excellent communication and critical thinking skills
knowledge of electronic health records
ability to travel to multiple locations
