A Bit About You

As Marketing Director at WeatherBug, you'll drive growth strategies, utilizing market trends and customer insights to achieve measurable goals. You'll build WeatherBug's brand and lead digital marketing efforts to optimize acquisition funnels and boost engagement. Additionally, you'll spearhead WeatherBug's social media strategy execution, collaborate on product marketing, and provide leadership to ensure effective team performance and innovation.

You Will

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive growth, using market trends and customer insights to guide decisions, and set measurable performance goals
  • Brand Management: Maintain a strong brand identity, create compelling messaging, and oversee all marketing materials
  • Social Media Strategy: Execute a global social media strategy to acquire users and reduce churn; develop campaigns with cross-functional marketing teams; provide insights to drive growth and engagement
  • Automation and Technology: Manage the social media automation roadmap, conduct needs assessments, plan enhancements, report results, and oversee the marketing technology stack
  • Digital Marketing: Lead SEM, email marketing, social media, and content marketing; optimize acquisition funnels; manage social media presence; and drive engagement
  • Product Marketing: Collaborate on go-to-market strategies, conduct market research, gather user feedback, and promote new product features
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Track and analyze marketing performance, identify trends, optimize strategies, and report to executive leadership
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop the marketing team, foster innovation, manage vendors, ensure attention to detail, and resolve issues swiftly
  • Other Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned

You Have

  • Education and Experience: Proven ability to deliver significant results, demonstrated through impactful projects and substantial hands-on experience, is essential, as this is more valuable than mere time spent in the market. While a Bachelor’s Degree plus 10 years' experience, or 12 years' experience without a degree, is desired, a Master’s Degree and certifications in digital marketing are highly valued and would be considered a strong advantage.
  • Strategic Planning and Brand Management: Proven record in marketing strategy and brand enhancement, especially re-working older brands to attract new users
  • Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategy: Demonstrable expertise in social media marketing, SEM, email, and, with a focus on app-based brands. Demonstrated success in building robust social media presence
  • Successful track record for a Digital Brand: Experience with digital brands, particularly apps, in marketing roles
  • Automation, Technology, and Product Marketing: Proficiency in managing marketing technology and promoting product features
  • Data Analysis, Reporting, and Team Leadership: Strong analytical skills, team leadership experience, and commitment to continuous learning.

The base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Our compensation package also includes a comprehensive benefits platform offering and a company bonus. The salary range for this position is listed below.

Salary Range

$150,000—$185,000 USD
