The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective production of perishable commodities, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and FDA/USDA compliance.
Essential Job Functions
Develop and execute manufacturing strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
Oversee operations of the production departments
Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to optimize production workflows, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency
Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure products are produced efficiently and to meet quality standards
Manage a team of operational leaders and supervisors, providing leadership and guidance to ensure a productive and motivated workforce
Monitor production metrics (KPI’s) and implement strategies to improve performance and reduce costs
Develop and install Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to drive business fundamentals as well as execute Value Creation Plans (VCPs)
Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure seamless coordination and communication within the organization
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, and implement measures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Stay current on industry trends and best practices, and recommend process improvements and technology upgrades to optimize operations

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related field
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in FDA/USDA manufacturing operations, perishable commodity experience a plus, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing supervisors, maintenance or facilities
Minimum of 2 years managing facility to a budget, full P&L experience a plus
Strong leadership skills with ability to set clear expectations and drive results through hands on partnership with employees and business leadership
Proven track record of driving operational efficiencies, VCP results and sustainable SOPs
Proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing principles and driving process improvements
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Knowledge of industry best practice, regulatory requirements, and safety standards
Must be authorized to work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for the US
