As the Director of Logistics and Operations at an industry leading pharmaceutical company, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials. You will have oversight of logistics operations, developing and managing a team, continuous improvement initiatives, and finance management.
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and manage a diverse team, fostering a high-performing, engaged, and flexible workforce.
Recruit, train, and develop talent to meet expectations and adapt to future business requirements.
Logistics and Supply Chain Oversight:
Accountable for inbound and outbound logistics, including receiving, putaway, inspection, sampling, inventory management, weigh/dispense, distribution, and drug substance freeze-down/storage.
Collaborate with central support functions to develop and implement strategies that improve cost of goods, optimize working capital, enhance storage capability, and mitigate distribution risks.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
Identify, design, and implement continuous improvement initiatives within our fast-paced business environment
Develop and maintain efficient systems and procedures that impact manufacturing service levels and storage strategies.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure full compliance with manufacturing regulations, local policies, Quality Management System (QMS), and cGMP.
Foster a safety-conscious, quality-compliant, and inspection-ready culture across the organization.
Inventory Management and Strategic Planning:
Take business line accountability for inventory management applications, implementing future upgrades.
Forecast and analyze warehousing and storage capacity, both internally and with external suppliers, supporting the growth of our biopharmaceutical business.
Collaboration and Financial Management:
Collaborate with international partners and domestic teams on designing and executing outbound shipments of high-value biopharmaceutical drug substance.
Adhere to financial objectives by managing the department’s OPEX budget and analyzing variances.
Risk Assessment and Emergency Preparedness:
Ensure robust distribution risk assessments per shipping validation protocols.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive emergency response plan for drug substance inventories.
Continuous Improvement Culture:
Embed a continuous improvement mindset, ensuring staff embraces the Production System for sustainable operations.
