IT Director

Overview: Responsible for managing and supervising an organization's technical operations which includes overseeing IT department and ensuring all technology systems and applications support the organization's goals and objectives. Reports to General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, designs, documents and tests application development standards, procedures, processes for modification upgrade and/or changes to application products/systems which include telecommunications network cables and infrastructure for IT at the property
  • Oversees projects assigned by the company’s home office team and property’s General Manager including tracking project timeline, budget, and expenses
  • Consults with user groups to assess and determine needs for the property
  • Assists with interviewing, selecting, training, and managing the day-to-day operations of the IT team
  • Oversees voice resources and upgrades for the property including working with vendors at the property
  • Serves in a rotating on-call capacity for after-hours/non-business hours support responding to issues arising with managed systems and users
  • Oversees application upgrades including necessary hardware and operating systems
  • Oversees evaluations and monitors application vendor service performance and/or vendor product performance to ensure availability of optimal system environments.
  • Oversees network security, which includes restricting company access to certain websites, maintaining virus protection software and employing other high-tech security measures to safeguard the company's information and ensure employees are in compliance with the Company Network security policy.
  • Ensures departmental support is provided for ancillary field operations systems such as credit card processing, timekeeping/labor reporting/labor forecasting, point of sale operations/reporting for reservations, F&B, retail, maintenance management systems, disaster recovery planning, and energy management systems.
  • Plan and coordinate the daily workflow of Help Desk Operations.
  • Performs other duties and projects assigned.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of IT/communications experience
  • One (1) year or more of IT team management
  • Background in hospitality-based systems strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Windows OS, and Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365 required
  • Working knowledge in SCCM/WSUS configuration. vSphere, and other various enterprise endpoint management tools
  • In depth understanding of both Active Directory and Group Policy functions in order to implement and maintain business and security policies across the institution
  • Preferred experience with applications, Opera Property Management Suite, Micros Simphony Point of Sale, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity Connection
  • At least one of the Industry certifications, CompTIA A+, Network +, Server +, Security + is a plus
  • Two (2) plus years of Telecommunications (Analog, Digital, and VoIP) experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate well in a training or classroom environment as necessary
  • Ability to balance time between general support issues and major projects/initiatives
  • Ability to approach others in a tactful manner and react well under pressure treating others with respect consideration regardless of their status or position.
  • Ability to serve as a leader within the department and the organization as a whole on areas concerning technologies and other spheres of influence.
  • Possess strong analytical skills including the ability to plan complex system-related projects.
  • Possess physical stamina and condition to withstand extensive standing, lifting, stooping, and bending involved in moving and transporting supplies and equipment weighing 30 pounds or more with the ability to work in small crawl spaces, attics, etc. and be able to withstand exposure to usual temperature ranges (both cool and hot) due to the locations of some of the computer equipment on the property
  • Valid driver’s license, required.
