The Director, Technology Infrastructure and Engineering provides strategic vision and leadership for all aspects of the Information Technology Infrastructure within the company. This position will set architectural standards, determine strategic direction, and establish projects to continuously improve the company’s data network, Microsoft infrastructure, messaging, and telecommunications systems. The position will also have oversight of the day to day activities of the IT Infrastructure Engineering Team, providing leadership and guidance for employee development and project excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifies emerging technical trends and disruptive technologies and determines applicability for the company
Provides top level oversight for infrastructure consolidation initiatives inclusive of Microsoft 365 instances as well as Google Suite instances
Design enterprise solutions that are scalable, adaptable, and in synch with ever changing business needs and technology capabilities
Manage third party vendors delivering both project implementation and ongoing support services
Installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and tuning of enterprise client/server technologies such as Azure, Microsoft Windows Server, AWS, Microsoft 365
Provide third level support to assist with resolving complex technical problems
Lead effort for root cause analysis for all major infrastructure incidents and outages
Reviews and Negotiates all data and telecommunications contracts and agreements
Performs analysis of Telecommunications and Network needs and leads the design of Telecom and Network architecture, integration, and installation
Coordinates and works collaboratively with other departments in order to understand and meet business requirements
Responsible for Telecommunications and Data Networks disaster recovery plans
Evaluates Telecommunications and Network system requirements and capabilities and makes recommendations
Owns the enterprise IT budget ensuring proper financial budgeting and compliance of actuals to budget
Prepares and maintains documentation of Telecommunications and Data Networks configurations
Develops and maintains detailed documentation of architected network solutions, as-built and proposed WAN/LAN topology, and provides expertise across IT and the enterprise in areas of design, security, WAN, LAN, and associated concepts
Bear responsibility for all team members, their assignments, their performance, attendance, career growth, cross-training and professional development
Responsible for on-going staff management, coaching, and job specific educational planning and corrective action as needed
Ensure successful implementation all Information Technology infrastructure projects
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of experience managing Information Technology teams
10+ years of technical experience in telecommunications and data networking
Advanced understanding of layer-2 and layer-3 switching and routing
10+ years Cloud Experience: Microsoft Azure, Office 365, G-Suite, PaaS, IaaS, SaaS
Experience designing an Active Directory for a large, geographically dispersed enterprise.
Strong interpersonal and professional skills required
Strong written and verbal communications skills required with particular emphasis on delivery of high quality technical documentation as related to technical implementations
Ability to communicate with senior and executive leadership
Proven abilities in the use of MS Visio for network topology documentation
Minimal travel required (~15%)
