Director of Information Technology

We are now seeking a dynamic, data-driven IT Director to join our team and lead our IT department into the future.

We are looking for a visionary Director of Information Technology with exceptional mentorship skills and a data-driven mindset to oversee our IT and telecommunications operations and strategy. This role is crucial in ensuring our IT infrastructure is robust, secure, and capable of supporting business goals. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in IT management, a deep understanding of the latest technologies, and the ability to inspire and lead their team.

What will you do if hired?

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the IT Department's operational and strategic planning by developing technology project plans, specifying goals, determining appropriate staffing, scheduling, identifying risks, developing contingency plans, and allocating available resources associated with technology to meet business needs.
  • Oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of all IT systems, including applications, servers, and databases ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with SEC’s goals and objectives.
  • Supervise and participate in the design, implementation, and management of the cooperative’s network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Implement network policies and procedures to enhance security and efficiency.
  • Respond to and manage IT security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact.
  • Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Manage the IT budget, optimizing expenditures while maintaining high standards of service.
  • Negotiate, manage, and administer technology vendor, outsourced and consultant contracts, and service agreements.
  • Develop, implement, and manage IT policies and procedures including those for architecture, cyber and information security, disaster recovery, standards, and purchasing.
  • Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of major technology infrastructure failure or natural disaster
  • Ensure SEC communications systems (including, but not limited to, microwave, two-way radio, phone, AMI, and SCADA) are functioning at peak performance.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance the cooperative’s IT capabilities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide solutions.
  • Oversee and develop data management strategies, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and security.
  • Implement data governance policies and procedures, including data privacy compliance.
  • Utilize data analytics to support business decisions and improve operational efficiency.


Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development
  • In-depth knowledge of a broad range of computing technologies, and proficiency in applying technology solutions
  • Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, standards, and security
  • Knowledge of telecommunications systems and circuits
  • Ability to use data visualization tools to present data insights.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical persons
  • Ability to effectively solve problems.


Experience:

  • Ten years of related work experience required.
  • Management/leadership experience required.


Education:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related business field required.


Minimum Pay: $140,000 annually

This is an (does not allow remote) position at our Crewe, VA office.
