ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The Human Resource Director (HRD) position provides leadership to the Human Resources Department and supports all aspects of the company business by being an integrated, hands-on member of the Senior Leadership Team supporting the effective application of HR initiatives, compliance, and policies of the company. This position will own the employee experience by working with the department and business leaders to hire, guide, inspire, develop, and retain the talented employees that support our Core Values and strategic vision. The HRD will lead the HR team and collaborate with other departments to support Talent Management, Benefits and Compensation, Workforce Planning and Design, Learning & Development, Employee Engagement, Recognition and Retention, Compliance, Performance Management and Employee Relations, Employment Legal Matters as well as the application of many other HR disciplines necessary to provide best-in-class HR leadership and support to the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Ability to build strong relations and navigate across business units and departments effectively managing HR and supporting a complex and diverse business in the medical device industry
  • Partners with leaders at all levels, challenging and influencing difficult issues and strategic decisions, as well as providing sophisticated solutions to complex issues in an ambiguous environment
  • Apply influence skills as needed to develop and maintain working relationships, and deliver results and/or expertise in a professional manner
  • Outstanding communication, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving capabilities with a proven ability in change management and employee engagement to deliver high quality, fast paced, solutions to ensure a consistent positive impact on the workplace atmosphere and culture
  • Ability and willingness to be a proactive problem solver demonstrating confidence, professionalism, autonomy, and accountability at all times
  • Advise business leaders on critical and/or sensitive performance-related situations and provide situational coaching and feedback to employees at all levels of the organization using strong communication, influence, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to be a creative problem solver using both applied best-practices and innovative ideas to create an ever-evolving vision of HR for the future
  • Utilize accurate data, KPIs, and analytics to influence decisions and guide prioritization of attention and investment of all resources
  • Must have exceptional time-management, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to regularly prioritize workload as needed to meet demand and properly manage sensitive and confidential information and communications in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource initiatives, federal and state requirements and maintaining HR records by updating the HRIS


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited 4-year university or college required (master’s degree is preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Human Resources as a HR Business Partner (Client-facing support, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development and HR Operations, etc.) with a minimum of 5 years leading or managing a HR Team in a relevant or similar type of business supporting manufacturing or similar operations regulated by the FDA and operates as a federal contractor
  • Knowledge of human resources law, policies, and procedure
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with employees, staff, and candidates
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and work effectively in a demanding, fast paced environment
  • Exceptional customer service and problem solving skills are required. The ability to communicate confidential information is also required
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including time management, required


COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Display of dexterity in making strategic and sound decisions in developing organizational goals
  • Ability to use statistics, data, and leverage technology in monitoring and enhancing both business and employee performance
  • Experience using and maintaining HRIS, ATS, AAP and other HR systems, in-house and online, is required
  • You must be excellent with technology, be able to present using a laptop computer and be able demonstrate proficiency with MS Office package, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams as well as Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome and many other HR and business support systems


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
  • Must be able to sit at a desk and use a computer and phone for long periods of time each day
  • Interaction with x-ray devices; for this reason, strict safety and tracking programs are in place, requiring the utilization of dose monitoring equipment either full time or as necessitated by situation
  • The noise level in the work environment is low to normal for an office environment
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
