Position Summary

N Street Village is looking for a Director of People Operations (formerly Director of Human Resources) to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for leading, coaching, and overseeing the entire people team. This role ensures all policies and processes focus on supporting and improving the employee experience across the entire lifecycle. The Director will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the department, touching upon multiple disciplines such as HR, Communications, Compliance, and Business Operations. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of HR experience and a desire and proven ability to be a change agent.


Job Duties:

  • Develops and maintains a robust and scalable, organizationally people-focused department.
  • Leads and develops a team of 2-3 employees to successful departmental and organizational outcomes.
  • Act as lead, providing support to and mentoring program managers and staff on all HR-related matters.
  • Active participation as a leader in the organization, pushing for high standards, effective execution, and strong communication across the organization.
  • Manages and owns the day-to-day administration of human resources functions, such as record keeping, compliance, performance management, employee relations, benefits, onboarding, recruitment, training and development, special projects, culture, and engagement.
  • Ensuring the timely reporting and service delivery to meet and/or exceed established KPIs.
  • Full ownership of all aspects of the HR Value Chain and employee life cycle.
  • Uses data analytics to identify and provide effective feedback as a part of employee life cycle milestones to strategize in areas of recruitment, onboarding, engagement, development, benefits, and offboarding.
  • Provide training in areas such as new employee orientation, supervisor training, safety training, and mandated Federal, State, and company compliance training. Coordinates department-specific and ongoing training with department managers/supervisors.
  • Responsible for finding solutions, driving action, improving efficiency, and seeking opportunities to collaborate with your team, employees, organizational leaders, partners, key stakeholders, and community organizations.
  • Implement a yearly review process that ensures completion prior to fiscal year-end.
  • Approves and processes employee separations, including exit interviews. Identifies turnover trends.
  • Manages benefit questions and enrollments for employees.
  • Performs related duties as required.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, 8-10 years of experience in HR, Talent Relations/Management.
  • HR Certification strongly encouraged (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both digitally and verbally.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop others using an empathetic and emotionally intelligent perspective.
  • Advanced understanding of Federal and State employment and labor laws and data/record retention.
  • Excellent collaborator and consensus builder.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a servant leader who can motivate and lead high-performing teams to positive outcomes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time to completion.
  • Ability to problem solve, identify information accuracy and relevance and generate recommendations and solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to present information quantitatively and qualitatively.
  • Strong track record of metrics-driven decisions from strategically created KPIs and reporting to an executive audience.
  • Thought leader and subject matter expert with a people-first approach and track record of meeting and/or exceeding strategic goals.
  • Thorough knowledge of current hiring markets and ability to proactively strategize initiatives ahead of market changes.
  • Ability to connect organizational goals to operational solutions.
  • Ability to demonstrate operating in a growth mindset.
  • Ability to be proactive and experienced in creating strategic solutions for complex problems and ever-changing employee job markets.
