As the Director, Global Product Marketing, Merchandise and Promotional Products, you will play a pivotal role in driving category growth and consumer engagement through strategic merchandise planning and promotional product initiatives. You will redefine how beauty merchandising and promotional products intersect with fashion and entertainment, setting trends and elevating the consumer experience in the beauty industry. The position will report to the Vice President, Global Product Marketing and has one direct report.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the entire category of gifting and promotional products, including holiday sets, sampling, gifts with purchase, and special product distortions, ensuring alignment with the brand’s strategic goals and market trends, driving clear revenue growth.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive 3-year roadmap for the promotional strategy and hero product distortions. This strategic plan will ensure the brand remains fresh and relevant by anticipating market trends, aligning product launches with consumer demands, and continuously innovating the product line to maintain competitive edge.
  • In partnership with Global Consumer Engagement, spearhead collaborations with fashion, creative, and entertainment entities to design and launch trendsetting limited-edition products that captivate our global audience.
  • Ensure frequent calibration with Commercial teams, manage regional holiday distortions by tailoring products to meet local consumer preferences and seasonal demands.
  • Expand and refine the brand’s range of consumer merchandise, such as bags and clothing, ensuring they are on-brand and appealing to the target market.
  • Lead efforts to make gifting and merchandising a sustainable revenue driver, integrating eco-friendly practices and materials into product designs.
  • Act as a visionary leader who inspires innovation and creativity within the team, pushing the boundaries of traditional promotional products.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to understand consumer behavior and preferences, leveraging insights to optimize product offerings.
  • Work closely with other departments, including consumer marketing, packaging, sales, and supply chain, to ensure a cohesive approach to product launches and promotional campaigns.
  • Collaborate with procurement, external partners, agencies and vendors to explore new merchandise innovation opportunities, including product design, costing, and coordination for execution.
  • Develop and execute impactful influencer and press mailers that effectively communicate new launches and collaborations, enhancing brand presence and media coverage.
  • Utilize consumer insights, market trends, and competitive analysis to inform assortment decisions and identify growth opportunities within the category.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field required; MBA preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience in merchandise planning, promotions, or related roles within the beauty or consumer goods industry. Experience in fashion a plus.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and executing strategic merchandise and promotional initiatives to drive sales and profitability.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage consumer insights and market data to inform decision-making and drive results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
