Palm Medical Centers, a leading value-based provider of managed Medicare and Medicaid programs, is seeking a Director of Finance to join our executive team. This pivotal role involves overseeing the financial operations and strategies of the organization, reporting directly to the CFO. The Director of Finance will play a key role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving the financial success of Palm Medical Centers. Specific areas of focus will include processing service fund information, calculating IBNR estimates, providing forecasts to budgets, and establishing guidance and controls for all departments to operate within established budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the financial planning and analysis activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives. Provide guidance and controls for all departments to operate within established budgets. Work hand-in-hand with Business Development to develop financial models and forecasts for acquisition targets and de novos.
  • Service Fund Processing: Oversee the processing of service fund information, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and perform analyses to support service fund calculations and reporting
  • IBNR Estimation and Forecasting: Calculate Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) estimates for managed Medicare and Medicaid programs. Analyze historical claims data, industry benchmarks, and other relevant factors to develop accurate forecasts. Provide ongoing monitoring and analysis of IBNR reserves, identifying any variations and recommending adjustments as necessary
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Prepare reports and analysis on service fund information, IBNR estimates, and budget forecasts. Maintain compliance with accounting standards, healthcare regulations, and contractual requirements
  • Financial Systems and Processes: Evaluate, implement, and enhance financial systems, tools, and processes to streamline service fund processing, IBNR estimation, budget forecasting, and financial reporting. Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations
  • Team Leadership and Development: Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture. Set clear goals and objectives, conduct performance evaluations, and support professional development initiatives. Promote collaboration and cross-functional partnerships
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with the CFO to communicate financial results, forecasts, and insights to the executive team, board of directors, and other stakeholders. Present financial information in a clear and concise manner, providing meaningful analysis and recommendations related to service funds, IBNR estimates, and budgets
  • Relationship with CFO: Work closely with the CFO to align financial strategies with the organization's overall vision and goals. Collaborate on strategic initiatives, financial planning, and decision-making. Provide support to the CFO in various financial matters as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance,Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA qualification preferred
  • Proven experience in financialleadership roles, preferably within the healthcare industry or a managed care setting
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, analysis, and reporting
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with processing service fund information and calculating IBNR estimates
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Proficient in financial systems and tools, including ERP systems and financial modeling software
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior executives
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism
