Description/Job Summary
Reporting to the SVP of Operations and Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance will provide leadership and coordination of the company’s financial reporting, financial planning, budget management and project accounting. The Director of Finance will work with the Controller to ensure that finances are accurate and consistent with Lindahl Reed goals and policies. The Director of Finance will review policies and procedures to align with Lindahl Reed’s accelerated growth and to maintain FAR/CAS, DCAA and GAAP compliance. The Director of Finance will train, mentor, and manage staff and their performance. The Director of Finance will provide leadership, insights, and advice to drive financial performance and mitigate risks. The Director of Finance will be an integral member of Lindahl Reed’s operations team and will work closely with other leaders to support Lindahl Reed’s accelerated growth as part of an integrated operations team.
Position Responsibilities
Working with the Controller, manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems in Unanet ERP to ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and DCAA and other regulatory requirements as well as government contract specific requirements.
Manage the Annual Operating Plan process for financial forecasting.
Manage ongoing EAC forecasts at the project level.
Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards.
Implement and/or maintain consistent policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future applicable legislation.
Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.
Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, report on variances, and identify ways to optimize costs.
Create a high performing team and an environment of trust and productivity.
Support the annual financial audit, and other audits as required.
Prepare the company’s indirect rate structure on an annual basis.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field, or equivalent work experience
10+ years proven federal accounting experience
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Strong verbal and written communication and time management skills
Exemplary history of financial project management
Experience with Unanet, Costpoint, or other similar ERP
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, customer focus
Proven ability to motivate and monitor staff development
Keen analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced Excel skills
