We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Director of Finance and Accounting. This hands-on role involves overseeing financial planning, budget management, and ensuring regulatory compliance. As a key member of our small finance team, comprising this Director of Finance and Accounting and a Controller, you will be actively involved in executing the work, reflecting the essence of a collaborative and tightly-knit team. This position offers the chance to directly report to executive leadership, shaping our company's financial strategies and success.
Responsibilities
Develop and oversee financial processes and systems to support business scalability
Lead all financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management
Support other departments with modeling potential revenue for new SaaS and other service products.
Own building and managing monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts
Develop strategies to increase return on investment, profitability, and tax credits
Coordinate with auditors, maintain relationships with creditors and regulators, and ensure compliance
Oversee payroll processing for accuracy and compliance with labor laws
Review and approve payable transactions, optimizing payment terms and vendor relationships
Develop and maintain internal controls, regularly updating procedures and conducting audits
Own hiring, mentoring, and scaling the department to support organizational growth.
Collaborate with the executives and directors to create budgets and track key performance indicators
Streamline financial systems for efficient reporting, integrating operations and accounting tools
Ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate risks, and maintain financial integrity
Analyze processes for efficiency improvements and cost-saving initiatives
Requirements
8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience within B2C SaaS or high-growth startups with $50MM+ in revenue, demonstrating hands-on leadership in owning financial processes
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices
Experience managing third-party financial and tax relationships
Skilled in constructing accurate financial statements
Experience implementing and using ERP systems, such as NetSuite, Sage, or similar platforms.
Strategic problem-solving mindset with high integrity and ethics, as well as excellent communication abilities in a swiftly changing environment
Advanced proficiency in financial software and Excel
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
