Summary Of Job Duties

This position is charged with overseeing financial operations necessary to run a high-performing school district. These duties include, but are not limited to, receive and disburse funds of the school district, oversee payroll and accounts payable, budgeting, purchasing, audits, preparing monthly and annual reports to the school district board of directors, bank reconciliation and human resource responsibilities, such as employee contracts,W2’s, health insurance, FMLA, Affordable Care Act, and unemployment. This position reports directly to the school district superintendent.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree granted by a college or university which is accredited and recognized by the United States Department of Education.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of school financial accounting related experience with eFinance.
  • Certified Arkansas School Business Official (CASBO) certification preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • CASBO certification.
  • Yearly Tier I certification.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSA’s)

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to supervisors, peers, and others
  • Ability to present financial related material to the school superintendent, board of education members, teachers, members of the district, as well as members of the public
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Required to attend annual Tier I training and conduct Tier II training
  • Knowledge of the School Financial Accounting Handbook
  • Required to be State Information System Cycle Coordinator and eFinance System Administrator
  • Participates in the interviewing of candidates for hire, recommending selection of candidates to the superintendent
  • Ability to identify and detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel
  • Proficient in basic computer programs (I.E. MS Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, etc.)

Work Schedule

  • 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday according to the school calendar.

  • Salary commensurate with experience
