Job Opportunity: Director of Facilities

Location: South Side Area School District, Hookstown, Pennsylvania

Overview: Director of Facilities for South Side Area School District: This position includes the oversight and management of our campus facilities. We are seeking a skilled professional who is well-versed in mechanical systems, water systems, sewage systems, and adept at supervising unionized employees.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the maintenance and repair of all district facilities.
• Oversee mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of water and sewage systems.
• Supervise a team of employees under a union contract, ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
• Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures for facilities operations.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure facilities meet educational and operational needs.
  
  

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field and/or Technical School Degree (Preferred)
• Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in an educational or large institutional setting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, water systems, and sewage systems.
• Experience managing unionized employees and familiarity with union contracts.
• Knowledge of purchasing and procurement processes in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Water Conveyance and sewage treatment certificate is a value added
