Director of Event Management

BuiltWorlds provides research, news, conferences, and specialized data and advisory services to its member stakeholder companies in the Buildings & Infrastructure Sector in order to help them get the information and build the relationship they need in a changing, $13 trillion global industry.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as the Director of Event Management at BuiltWorlds. BuiltWorlds currently produces a slate of thirteen conferences on trends in the Built Environment across America and around the world for groups of 30 to 300 members and for sponsors, and we continue to grow the existing conferences while adding new ones. The Director of Event Management will have overall responsibility for planning and executing events, managing budgets, and overseeing all aspects of event management drawing support from our analyst team for programming as well as from our marketing, communications, sales and other team members in order to ensure overall success of the events. This role is located in the Greater Chicago Area.

Qualifications

• Business Event Planning, Event Management, and Budgeting experience
• Strong communication skills, including Marketing and Communications Skills
• Sales and negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Leadership and team management experience
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Knowledge of the built environment industry is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business, or related field

The role must be based in Chicago, and will, in general, require the person to be onsite at our 515 N State St. Chicago headquarters. It is not hybrid or remote.

There will be significant travel as our events are slated in Boston, New York, San Francisco, Paris, Raleigh, Tokyo, Toronto, Washington DC, and in the Middle East in 2025.
