Applied Concepts has an exciting opportunity at our Richardson headquarters for an experienced electronics manufacturing leader to step into the role of Director. You will help leverage our 47 years of technology expertise in Radar, Lidar, and traffic safety to lead site facilities, production, planning, and shipping functions at the company.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership and manage a team of supervisors who supervise 88 employees in the Microwave, Assembly, Shipping, Planning, Test, and Rework Departments. As a Director, you will report directly to the CEO and be part of the 7-person Management Group operating the company. Your responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; scheduling production and planning builds, managing the maintenance of the production equipment (including 2 SMT lines); assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Director of Electronics Manufacturing and Operations - How you'll make an impact:

  • You'll work with Quality, Accounting, Sales and Engineering to establish and maintain production procedures, ensuring a high standard of manufacturing operations, product quality, reliability and safety.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Quality during the phases of new product introduction to ensure alignment with the high-quality standards associated with the Stalker brand.
  • Prioritize, control and monitor manufacturing capacity, including making recommendations regarding labor and capital expenditures.
  • Recommend automation, assembly equipment and test equipment as needed to achieve improved product quality, customer responsiveness and/or reduced cost.
  • Analyze Engineering Change Notices and coordinate the implementation with Engineering, Purchasing, and Production organizations.
  • Act as a champion of efficiency improvement efforts, playing a key role in the daily waste reduction activities.
  • Work with Quality, Engineering, and Production Supervisors to analyze in-line product failures and troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate staff members to achieve work goals.
  • Interpret company policies to staff members and enforce safety regulations.
  • Work with IT to streamline manufacturing and planning functions.

Director of Electronics Manufacturing and Operations - We will be particularly interested if:

Director of Electronics Manufacturing and Operations - What you'll need to succeed:

  • You must currently live near the Richardson, Texas, area.
  • A 4-year Engineering or other technical degree or a 2-year degree with extensive experience.
  • Possess strong computer skills.
  • 5+ years' experience in an electronics SMT manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years' experience manufacturing new products.
  • 5+ years' experience managing managers/supervisors.
  • Ability to mentor and/or supervise technical staff, as needed.
  • Pass a drug screen and background check.
