ABOUT INTERFAITH FAMILY SERVICES

Since 1985, Interfaith has empowered families in crisis to break the cycle of poverty. Interfaith supports families through its three-step Family Empowerment Methodology. First, the empowerment model eliminates barriers through transitional housing and rental assistance for families. Next, the model equips parents with career coaching to obtain employment with livable wages and provides financial coaching to build savings and reduce debt. Simultaneously, the model educates children using Interfaith’s on-site birth to five-year-old childcare center and Kinder to 12th grade afterschool and summer programs improving academic performance and fostering socio-emotional development for the children involved. Through Interfaith’s Family Empowerment model, 95 percent of families exit with permanent housing, 98 percent obtain employment averaging $18.49 per hour, and 84 percent save an average of $830.11. Children in the program also experience success in school with 88 percent of children improving one grade level or more in reading and 84 percent of children improving one grade level or more in math.
