Director of Development

Role: Director of Development

Location: Remote (East Coast Preferred)

Compensation: $175-225k base + 20-30% bonus

Our client is a global leading renewable energy developer with 80+ active projects and a 5GW pipeline of DG and utility-scale solar and nearly 2GW of energy storage originated to date. Their mission is to play a pivotal role in the energy transition by empowering communities to have access to clean energy. The small team engage in the development of greenfield projects and high-quality opportunities to provide maximum value creation for all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Manage project design, engineering, interconnection, permitting, securing state incentives and eligibility for participation in state-based programs.
• Identify and develop new solar PV and BESS business opportunities and present to senior management.
• Play a critical role in the marketing and sale of development assets to IPP investors at NTP.
• Manage a team of developers that work across several jurisdictions and asset classes.
• Prepare project budgets and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in the development of renewable energy (community and/or utility scale solar PV preferred).
• Experience in leading developers and managing multiple people and projects simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross function internal team and external vendors, utilities, and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel.
