Our client is a leading real estate development company specializing in industrial and commercial projects. They are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Development to lead their team in achieving our growth and development goals.


Job Description:


Position Overview: The Director of Development will oversee all aspects of real estate development projects, focusing on industrial and commercial properties. This role involves strategic planning, project management, financial analysis, and team leadership to ensure successful project execution from inception to completion.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and execution of industrial and commercial real estate development projects.
  • Identify and evaluate potential development opportunities, conducting feasibility studies and market analysis.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to achieve project goals and profitability targets.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the development process.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, permits, and approvals required for project development.
  • Conduct financial analysis, including pro forma development, cash flow projections, and ROI analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of project objectives with overall company strategy.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to inform development strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with investors, lenders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to development team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Development, Urban Planning, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in real estate development, with a focus on industrial and commercial projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex development projects from concept through completion.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with financial modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, solve problems, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of zoning laws, building codes, and regulatory requirements related to real estate development.
  • Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams.
