Director of Development

Our partner is a small team focused on DG renewable energy projects, focused on bringing solar and BESS projects to communities. They've exceeded their 2023 goals and have ~90 DG projects ready to develop or at NTP.

In this role, you'll lead development efforts, playing a pivotal role in the growth of the company and project pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to identify, acquire, and develop DG projects across target markets.
• Lead a high-performing development team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
• Oversee all aspects of the development process, including site origination, feasibility studies, permitting, interconnection agreements, and power purchase agreements (PPAs).
• Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, utilities, regulators, and investors.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in the DG market, identifying new opportunities and market shifts.
• Analyze market data and competitor activity to inform strategic decision-making.
• Ideally have experience in NYISO, PJM, SPP, or MISO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, environmental science, or a related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a strong focus on distributed generation.
• Proven track record of successfully originating, developing, and financing DG projects.
• In-depth knowledge of DG technologies, permitting processes, interconnection requirements, and power purchase agreements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A passion for renewable energy and a commitment to sustainability.
