▪ Our Minerals Division represents a significant portion of our operations and is currently undergoing substantial business transformation with investments in modern processes and systems supported by SAP and Microsoft productivity tools.
▪ We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced Director of Data and Analytics to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of our data strategy and related initiatives within our Minerals Division.
▪ This role will oversee the deployment of data analytics platforms and tools across Minerals, ensuring alignment with our global data strategy and Enterprise Architecture, utilizing capabilities provided by our Business Service (global shared services) and our Common Data Platform.
▪ The position requires expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and data governance principles to drive innovation and efficiency throughout our operations.
▪ A primary focus of this role is to elevate decision-making across the organization by transitioning to data-driven and evidence-based decision support.
▪ Effective stakeholder management and engagement are essential, including coaching Minerals leadership teams to embrace data-centric decision making, establish defined KPIs, OKRs, and related improvement opportunities.
▪ This role collaborates actively within the Minerals IS&T Leadership Team and the Global Data Community of Practice.
▪ The role provides functional leadership for Data across the Division, including direct oversight of a small team within the Divisional data team.

Objectives & Measurement
Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:
Main Functions ▪ Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with Divisional objectives and industry best practices, and in accordance with our Corporate Data Strategy and Target Enterprise Architecture.
▪ Lead the establishment of a data governance framework across Minerals to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance with relevant regulations. This includes leadership of the Divisional Data Governance and Enterprise Performance Management Teams to support Performance Excellence.
▪ Lead efforts in recruiting and retaining data analytics and data science talent, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
▪ Collaborate closely with IS&T and business stakeholders to integrate AI and machine learning technologies that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
▪ Drive adoption of advanced analytics and predictive modeling techniques across the division.
▪ Implement corporate data policies and standards to ensure appropriate collection, storage, and utilization of corporate data assets.
▪ Collaborate with colleagues in designing and developing corporate analytics datastore, based on our Common Data platform.
People ▪ Manage and lead the Minerals Division Data and Analytics team, including proposing and aligning on the annual team budget.
▪ Cultivate strong relationships with senior leaders across the Division, advising them on leveraging data to support their business areas and the wider organizational goals.
