Regent at Burnsville, a 148-bed independent and assisted living facility, has a very rare opening for a Director of Culinary to help lead our team! Due to an internal transfer, this rare opening is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate. In this role you will collaborate with our team to use your culinary expertise to plan enticing and nutritious menu options for our residents as well as special events. Additionally, you will help build and train the culinary team, provide work direction, and manage all culinary/dietary staff.
This is a Full-Time, benefit eligible position working a preferred schedule of Sunday through Thursday. In addition to generous benefits, there are not late nights in the kitchen!
Director of Culinary Responsibilities:
Ensure appropriate nutritional care is provided to all residents
Coordinate with the home office dietitians to plan meals at the facility
Oversee daily operations of the Culinary Services department
Guarantee meals, snacks, and supplements are planned, prepared, and served to residents in a pleasant atmosphere
Recruit, hire, and supervise department staff
Prepare employee schedules, maintain attendance records, and approve payroll
Promote special food events (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc.) for residents and guests
Perform additional tasks as required.
Director of Culinary Requirements:
Culinary Arts degree preferred
3+ years experience as lead chef in a hospitality of health care environment
Current Food Protection Manager (CFPM) - must obtain within first 90 days of employment
3+ years leadership experience in food service management
Knowledge of food allergies, modified textures, therapeutic diets, and diseases related to nutrition
Knowledge of computer applications
Knowledge of local, state and federal food service regulations
