POSITION SUMMARY


Emerge Education has an immediate opening on our growing team for a corporate outreach executive who is responsible for generating new business revenue by engaging local, regional, and national companies/organizations in partnership agreements that lead to new student enrollments for our various content partners and higher education clients. In collaboration with the departments of Recruitment and Marketing and other Emerge Education staff who are focused on workforce development initiatives, the Director of Corporate Outreach is responsible for managing and executing strategies around corporate partnerships.


The ideal candidate will have consultative sales, business development, corporate outreach, or relationship management experience at a director level or higher. This person must demonstrate the ability to interact and drive partnership goals with senior-level corporate, government, and academic professionals. A demonstrated and proven ability to be entrepreneurial but also follow the professional sales process through prospecting, preparation, approach, presentation, handling objections, closing, and follow-up is critical for success in this fast-paced position.


The successful candidate will also have a track record of sound decision-making abilities as well as strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. The candidate for this position must also have the ability to develop, plan, and implement achievable short and long-range business development/new prospect goals. Additionally, this person will need to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in diverse educational contexts while working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment with varying work hours.

JOB LOCATION/ EQUIPMENT

This position works in a hybrid capacity. Equipment used includes but is not limited to telephone, personal computer, and required software programs (Microsoft Office, Google Mail, video chat tools, Salesforce CRM, and others), printer, fax machine, and copy machines.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Research and pursue potential corporate/government/nonprofit educational partnerships with key decision-makers

• Follow the professional sales process through prospecting, preparation, approach, presentation, handling objections, closing, and follow-up.

• Take full ownership of annual revenue targets related to corporate outreach and track opportunities at various stages within the sales funnel to project revenue by quarters

• Drive prospects to near-term decisions and/or establish informed and achievable timelines to bring predictability or closure to each new opportunity.

• Through partnership agreements, prospecting, and relationship management efforts, obtain new student leads for the recruiting team

• Work closely with supervisors in the departments of Marketing, Recruiting, and Retention (and other members of the workforce development and corporate partnership team) to achieve fiscal goals

• Work closely with existing corporate partners to generate new prospects through events, marketing agreements, webinars, and other employee-driven efforts

• Leverage resources and relationships with client institutions to generate new prospects and applicants within the corporate outreach program

• Manage expense budgets related to the implementation and execution of the corporate partnership program

• Prepare weekly business development/new prospect reports

• Work special events as necessary to entertain existing partners and potential prospects

• Develop and foster communications with all new and existing points of contact

• Research, implement, and manage new partnership initiatives - developing processes, procedures, and best practices

• Deliver presentations that inspire action to a diverse audience of potential prospects and corporate decision-makers

• Determine resources required to achieve articulation goals and formulate materials and other efforts necessary to facilitate partnerships

• Be able to work independently and pro-actively

• Leverage problem-solving, planning, and project management skills to find ways to get in front of potential prospects

• Work in a collaborative environment with individuals at all levels

• Business travel will be required

• Perform duties as assigned by Emerge Education senior leadership

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in business, education, or another translatable field

• Proven ability to sell and generate new prospects

• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing

• Proven ability to collaborate, build consensus, and work effectively

with university partners and within the corporate culture

• Ability to work effectively in a constantly changing environment


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working for a higher-education institution or working on behalf of one

• A master’s degree in business, education, leadership, or related area
