Reporting to the VP of legal, inDrive is seeking a Director of Legal to oversee, lead, and provide vision for all aspects of the company’s corporate legal needs and other strategic matters. They will support inDrive’s existing and future legal needs in a variety of areas, including corporate, securities, governance strategic initiatives, and acquisition integrations.


As the head of inDrive’s corporate legal group, this leader will provide legal support for all corporate needs including U.S. securities disclosure and reporting. Additionally, this person will lead all aspects of corporate governance and worldwide corporate compliance. This person will lead a team dedicated to supporting inDrive’s rapidly changing business needs. They will also be responsible for working with inDrive’s New Venture division to support integrations and alignment across the company. They will support other activities such as equity management, benefits and compensation matters, and ESG reporting and disclosure. They will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with evolving laws and industry standards and creating and building solutions to help inDrive meet its business goals.


This lawyer should be strategic and have operational expertise in private and public company securities law, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate work.

The successful candidate will have superior technical skills and a strong demonstrated intellectual curiosity to develop a deep understanding of our business, mission, and vision. This leader will have a strong executive presence and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, including the executive team, board of directors, and stockholders. This person should also have proven success in working cross-functionally and have excellent communication skills.


What You’ll Do

  • Private company governance (corporate approvals, equity management, corporate transactions);
  • Capital markets readiness and corporate securities (including all of the public company securities reporting);
  • Corporate governance (assistant secretary to the board as needed);
  • Investor relations (part of an extended group that outreaches to our largest investors)
  • Support for ESG activities and reporting;
  • Ownership related to the integration of global M&A and investments (in partnership with New Ventures division);
  • Partner with the finance department to advise on and execute cash management activities and transactions;
  • Advise on executive compensation plan/design (partner with human resources and finance departments); and
  • Responsible for all of our global subsidiaries and structures in ~40 different countries; support for treasury and corporate finance (capital structure and capital markets).


What you'll need to succeed

  • A J.D. from a leading U.S. law school/university, an active member of the bar in good standing, and at least 8 years of relevant work experience, including several years at a top law firm (and additional in-house legal department experience highly valued as well), specifically in federal securities law and corporate governance; preferably with additional border experience in areas such as M&A, comp and benefits, and contracts;
  • Superior technical skills in core areas of expertise, including in-depth command of the legal requirements as well as practical implications and ability to prepare and oversee excellent work products;
  • Superior relationship management skills with the ability to develop partnerships and relationships throughout the organization as well as with key external collaborators to drive strong and consistent business performance;
  • A strategic problem-solver with excellent legal and business judgment;
  • Impeccable integrity and ethical behavior with a strong moral compass and a commitment to transparency;
  • Ability and determination to create clarity in high-stakes situations with ambiguity;
  • A creative, innovative, and business-minded leader with a positive attitude;
  • Keen attention to detail, and discretion in dealing with highly-sensitive information;
  • Superior analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability;
  • Strong ability to prioritize, and focus on critical initiatives for the company, operational excellence, and holding team accountable; and
