Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive communications plan in alignment with organizational objectives.
Lead the strategic planning, creation, and distribution of all communication materials.
Media Relations
Cultivate and manage relationships with media outlets to maximize coverage of our initiatives.
Serve as the primary spokesperson and oversee crisis communication efforts.
Brand & Content Development
Establish a distinctive brand identity and voice for the organization.
Oversee the creation and dissemination of communication materials, including web content and social media.
Team Management
Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing communications team.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes creativity and innovation.
Digital Engagement
Develop and execute digital marketing strategies to promote organizational programs.
Utilize data and analytics to enhance digital outreach efforts.
Strategic Partnerships
Collaborate with internal and external partners to amplify advocacy efforts.

Ideal Candidate
Minimum of 10 years of communication experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
Proficient in media relations, strategic communications, and brand development.
Outstanding writing and editing abilities.
Skilled in managing digital media and content creation.
Demonstrated ability to lead and cultivate high-performing teams.
Familiarity with advocacy and criminal justice issues is a plus.
