POSITION: Director of Clinical Care and Excellence

RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Compliance & Risk Officer

JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Clinical Care and Excellence is a key leadership role tasked with elevating clinical quality, patient care, and ensuring regulatory compliance within our organization. Reporting to the Chief Compliance & Risk Officer with a dotted line to the Chief Medical Officer, this dynamic leader will oversee all aspects of clinical care delivery, drive quality improvement, and implement evidence-based practices. Essential to this role is the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to foster a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and improvement, ensuring our commitment to advancing healthcare services in a supportive and innovative environment.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies to optimize clinical care delivery, patient outcomes, and overall quality of care.
  • Oversee the development and success of our nurses, clinical coordinators, and medical assistants.
  • Provide leadership and support to clinical staff in implementing quality improvement initiatives, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders, physicians, and other stakeholders to develop and implement clinical care pathways, protocols, and standards based on best practices and evidence-based medicine.
  • Partner with the Quality Champion to ensure success of the organization’s clinical quality initiatives, including MIPS
  • Responsible for conducting OSHA and safety inspections, across various clinic locations within the organization to ensure compliance with OSHA and other critical safety standards. Engages in extensive travel, up to 60% of the time.
  • Support the Clinical Excellence Committee (CEC) and provide leadership in identifying, prioritizing, and addressing areas for improvement in clinical care quality and patient safety.
  • Update and write new policies and procedures, protocols, and forms as directed by CEC or as needed.
  • Drive initiatives to monitor, evaluate, and improve key performance indicators related to clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices in clinical care, including but not limited to Joint Commission standards, OSHA regulations, and CMS guidelines.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and accountability among clinical staff through mentorship, training, and performance feedback.
  • Serve as a liaison with external partners, professional organizations, and regulatory agencies to stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging regulations.

Other

  • Completes all assigned AP training (such as CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance, Information Security, others) within designated timeframes.
  • Complies with Allergy Partners and respective hub/department policies and reports incidents of policy violations to a Supervisor/Manager/Director, Department of Compliance & Privacy or via the AP EthicsPoint hotline.
  • Models the AP Code of Conduct and demonstrates a commitment to the AP Compliance Program, standards and policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment is also required. Employee must have normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriately. Primarily works from a remote location when not traveling in the field for OSHA inspections. Occasional evening or weekend work. Travel of up to 50-60% may be necessary.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current RN or PA licensure required.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Proven track record of at least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare or nursing management.
  • Understanding of OSHA, CLIA and other applicable guidelines for healthcare practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build consensus around strategic initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, foster a culture of innovation, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience using email and interacting with Internet applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive informed decision-making.
