Macdonald & Co. has been exclusively tasked with appointing a Director of Capital Raising for a leading investment manager and lending platform in Los Angeles, CA.


This dynamic organization already operates across the West and is now seeking a Director of Capital Raising for the Los Angeles area. The chosen candidate will be instrumental for driving sales - attracting new investors into the existing investment funds, primarily from private wealth advisory firms, RIAs, family offices, and retail investors.


As an integral part of the investor relations team, the Director will report to the Chief Financial Officer and also be accountable to the Managing Directors. The position focuses on developing new connections with private wealth advisors, especially those based on the West Coast.


Role

Functions & Responsibilities

  • Enhance Capital Growth: Attract investments from registered investment advisors and family offices to the group's open-ended funds.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and cultivate new connections with private wealth advisors through diverse communication channels, including email, phone calls, virtual, and in-person meetings.
  • Fund Knowledge: Clearly explain and differentiate the Company’s various funds, providing tailored guidance based on each investor’s goals.
  • Data Management: Ensure data integrity by promptly recording relevant investor interactions and insights in the CRM system, maintaining precise and comprehensive records.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with relevant teams to support fund closings, reporting, ad hoc requests, and any investor-related activities.
  • Market Insight: Utilize knowledge of credit markets and client needs to effectively communicate and strategize with investors.


Education and/or Experience

  • A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required. An MBA, advanced degree, or relevant certifications (such as CFA) are highly preferred.
  • Proven success in building relationships and raising capital from registered investment advisors (RIAs), ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals, and family offices.
  • In-depth knowledge of fixed income products and investment structures, with the ability to clearly articulate the group's unique value proposition and its integration into portfolio strategies.
  • Strong business insight, exceptional communication and presentation abilities, and the capability to understand and address client needs while presenting the group as the optimal solution.
  • Excellent skills in data compilation and analysis to inform and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • This position is based in Los Angeles and requires in-office presence at least four days per week to ensure close collaboration with the executive team.
