Position Overview:
The Dallas Express is seeking a motivated and passionate Business Development Director to join our growing team. The Business Development Director will play a key role in supporting the organization's advertising sales efforts including soliciting large individual and corporate donors, sponsors, and advertisers. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with our leadership team and make a strategic contribution to organizational success.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute sales strategies to support the organization's revenue goals.
Identity and cultivate relationships with individual and corporate donors, sponsors and advertisers.
Manage client relationships and stewardship including thank you letters, updates, event invites and reports.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Track and report on detailed fundraising and pipeline activities, goals and results
Stay informed on industry trends and best practices
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, communications, marketing, non-profit management or a related field.
2+ years experience in advertising sales, business development or related roles. Experience in the digital media and/or nonprofit sector is ideal.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and unique value propositions for diverse audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build, maintain, and grow relationships with individual and corporate donors, sponsors, advertisers, and colleagues.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in basic Microsoft and Google Office and collaboration tools.
