The Position:
To support our growth, we are searching for a Director of Business Development with demonstrated success researching the market, networking, developing relationships, identifying opportunities, and selling professional services to join our team. We are focused on growing the greater Atlanta Metro area client base.
In this role, you’ll support and partner with the Partner-in-Charge in Atlanta to help drive our sales efforts – you will be responsible for the following:
Introducing Pepper Foster Consulting and our Strategy & Execution services to your local network
Prospecting with former clients and potential target accounts to explore their business needs that can be met with consulting services
Setting up Introductory meetings with potential clients to introduce them to Pepper Foster Consulting
Working with our leadership team to explore client needs and qualify opportunities in a spirit of partnership
Maintaining frequent touchpoints with your prospecting base
Updating SalesForce with your pipeline of forecasted accounts and opportunities and briefing leadership weekly on the projects in the pipeline
Partnering with the Atlanta leadership team in developing proposals and sales decks as appropriate for client meetings
Sharing weekly updates on business development activities
Working with prospective and existing clients to take from opportunity identification through close of the sale
Working with clients on project extensions
Getting to know our consulting team and their capabilities

With a positive reputation in the local business community and beyond, while based on trust and delivering on your promises, you’ll hit the ground running with Pepper Foster, using your growing contact list to help sell multiple six and seven figure projects annually, while making a difference for your clients, your teams, and your community.
Minimum Qualifications:
7+ years of work experience, with at least 2+ years being in B2B sales focusing on the Atlanta market
Eagerness to attend/get involved in professional or community organizations to expand network exposure
Strong aptitude to be able to start with a concept/target and develop a plan of approach for researching, identifying and engaging with key prospects/contacts
Exposure/experience selling consulting and/or professional services projects
Local network of potential client relationships
Experienced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Word for researching, presentation, and proposal development
Our Director of Business Development Will Have Demonstrated Experience With:
Identifying and developing a network: This will include actively participating in key networking societies/events/boards to broaden the network and expand the company's brand awareness. Building connections and relationships in the local business community is crucial for generating leads and potential clients.
Prospecting and lead generation: This function includes prospecting with former clients/contacts and potential target accounts to explore their business needs that can be fulfilled through consulting opportunities. Actively identifying and pursuing potential clients is essential for business growth.
New Business Development: The ideal candidate would have a proven track record of selling consulting services or professional service projects in Atlanta or come from a software sales background (eg. Oracle, SAP, etc.). Ideally, this individual would also bring to the table, relationships with a variety of Clients ranging from $500 million in annual revenue through to Fortune 500. We are looking for a leader with a strong network of established local client relationships that includes deep trusted advisor relationships with proven buyers in Atlanta and proven sales history in the market.
Relationship building & management: Nurturing relationships with prospects and clients is vital for establishing trust and rapport. This includes setting up introductory meetings, maintaining frequent touchpoints with the prospecting base, and working with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Market research and analysis: Conducting market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competition. This involves analyzing industry data, market dynamics, and client needs to guide business development efforts.
Proposal and presentation development: Collaborating with key individuals within the company to develop proposals, sales decks, and presentations for client meetings is an important function. These materials should effectively communicate the value and solutions the consulting company can provide to clients.
Collaboration with internal teams: Partnering with other internal and national teams to understand their expertise and capabilities and then delivering tailored solution pitches to clients.
