Introduction:
Modus Planning is an innovative, next generation platform to help CPG brands integrate their business processes for scale. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Director to manage our sales efforts from discovery to close. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in consumer packaged goods (CPG) with experience in SaaS sales, who is adept at fostering an incredible collaborative relationship with quickly growing and enterprise-level brands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base.
- Aid in the creation of a go-to-market sales department. Role is envisioned to have direct reports.
- Partner with potential customers to deeply understand their business needs and objectives.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting, and authentic customer relationships.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations.
- Understand CPG category-specific landscapes and trends.
- Work with leadership to refine the company's sales policies, objectives, and initiatives.
- Recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
- Lead a team of account executives and sales professionals to achieve sales goals.
Requirements:
- Proven sales experience, meeting or exceeding targets.
- Previous experience as an account executive working with CPG-industry clients,
- Familiarity with CRM software, specifically HubSpot.
- Strong understanding of outbound sales motions and account-based marketing.
- Ability to communicate, present, and influence all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from discovery to close.
- Strong ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services.
- Proven ability to position products against competitors.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent listening and presentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- A deep understanding of the CPG industry and its challenges.
- Experience with sales strategy development and implementation.
