Director of Business Development

BioPhase Solutions specializes in recruiting top talented professionals for the San Diego County Scientific community. We are currently looking for an onsite Director of Business Development to work for a leading San Diego biotechnology company.

*Must be local to San Diego County and willing to commute 5-days/week onsite in North County San Diego.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Provide project support and engage in corporate development activities as needed.

-Explore growth opportunities through partnerships with private companies, public organizations, research institutions, and academic groups.

-Stay informed about the latest technology and market trends, including participating in scientific and trade shows.

-Conduct research on industry, market, and company data to assess the value of potential partnerships or acquisitions.

-Organize, plan, and execute partnership initiatives, handling all stages from initial interaction and due diligence to post-agreement collaboration.

-Lead and support the Business Development team in achieving their goals.

-Identify and develop new business leads in the U.S. market, particularly through marketing efforts for new products.

-Provide insights to R&D teams on innovative products that meet customer needs globally and regionally.

-Develop and implement 3C analysis business models.

-Ensure all activities remain on track, supporting them from feasibility to final contract execution.

-Translate customer needs into actionable technical opportunities.

-Identify and leverage innovative technologies from academia and industry.

-Contribute to the creation of strategic business models to enhance company value.

-Develop and regularly update Mid/Long Term Business Plans.

Director of Business Development Requirements:

-Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (science or business), required.

-MS or Ph.D. in a technical discipline (science), preferred.

-Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.

-Experience in and understanding of the therapeutic Oligonucleotide synthesis market.

-Prior experience in business development.

-Strong understanding of biology, chemistry, drug delivery, and the pharmaceutical industry.

-Familiarity with state-of-the-art technologies and future technology trends.

-Ability to deduce new research themes with strong market potential.

-Demonstrated presentation skills for internal and external audiences.

-Ability to build and sustain relationships with teams (internal and external).

-Analytical and organized approach with entrepreneurial qualities.

-Prior experience in M&A and demonstrated value-creation function.
