Position Overview:

They are seeking an exceptional Director of Bioinformatics to lead their dynamic bioinformatics team. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a robust background in bioinformatics, computational biology, and data science. This individual will play a critical role in shaping their bioinformatics strategy, driving research initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance their AI-driven projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of bioinformaticians, data scientists, and computational biologists.
• Develop and implement bioinformatics strategies to support their research and development goals.
• Collaborate with AI scientists, molecular biologists, and other stakeholders to design and execute computational analyses.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of bioinformatics pipelines, tools, and databases.
• Interpret complex biological data and provide insights to guide experimental design and decision-making.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioinformatics, computational biology, and AI to integrate innovative approaches into their research.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in bioinformatics or computational biology, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong proficiency in bioinformatics tools, algorithms, and databases.
• Experience with AI and machine learning applications in biotechnology is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of successful project management and team leadership.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
