Through our online training program dancers around the world can take over 1,500 classes from top dance instructors from New York and Los Angeles. For more advanced students, we offer the CLI Conservatory, an extensive in-person training program where dancers launch their professional careers with training and support from over 100 world-renowned choreographers. 

Our team is a collaboration between world-class performing artists (e.g. multi-season stars from SYTYCD), technologists, startup operators, and more. We believe business and art are not mutually exclusive. In fact, it is the melding of these two worlds that has made us the bold, creative force we are today. In the same sentence, you’ll hear us talking about dance technique, studio production, and conversion rates.

About the role

This position is specific to the CLI Conservatory, a 10-month pre-professional training program designed to help young dancers join the professional dance industry. We created the Conservatory to provide dancers and their families with an alternative, more affordable path to launching their dance careers. As our Admissions Director, you will lead our student recruiting and admissions team, which helps us identify and recruit the world's best dancers to attend the CLI Conservatory. You’ll play a key leadership role at the company, spearheading the planning and execution of our admissions strategy in collaboration with our COO and CEO. While this role is remote, you must be based in a state in which CLI Studios is registered to operate (California, New York, or Massachusetts). You will also be expected to travel as-needed to the Conservatory (based in western Massachusetts) and to recruiting events around the country. 

Here are some of the activities you will be responsible for:

• Working closely with the COO and CEO to develop the recruitment and admissions strategy and plan
• Planning and executing key student recruitment events
• Developing and maintaining relationships with partner organizations that support our recruiting objectives
• Maintaining, analyzing, and reporting recruiting performance metrics
• Collaborating with cross functional partners to deliver against recruiting deliverables and objectives
• Planning and executing online and in-person recruiting events, including travel to the CLI Conservatory in western Massachusetts and to dance events across the country
• Leading the admissions team and collaborating with cross functional partners to deliver against admissions objectives

Your background and experience

Critical to our team is someone who is excited about our unique mission at CLI Studios! You are passionate about dance, detail oriented and organized, and willing to hustle to hit goals and deadlines. You will also be up to the adventure of working at an early stage startup, which means you are ready and willing to wear multiple hats when needed. Your skills and experience should include the following: 

• Five or more years of experience working in management roles in business operations, sales and account management, consulting, or admissions
• Experience with the dance industry (as a former dancer or employee of a dance or danced-related company) 
• Results-oriented mindset with excellent prioritization and multitasking skills
• Experience managing and leading teams in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Strong organizational skills and detail orientation 
• Experience with productivity software (eg Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Clickup) and with CRM software (eg Zendesk, Salesforce)
