Located on Maine’s rugged coastline, Maine Coast Semester offers a small group of diverse and academically ambitious high school juniors the opportunity to develop the habits of independent learning, an appreciation for the natural world, and the chance to practice the art of building a sustainable community.
Summary
The Maine Coast Semester Director of Admissions provides strategic and day-to-day leadership and management for the successful recruitment and enrollment of Maine Coast Semester students. This collaborative team member will bring energy and creativity to their role, sharing a passion for place-based transformative learning and a commitment to engaging with staff, students, and families in order to cultivate positive relationships and build upon a strong network of former and current constituents and alumni. This position will act in partnership with the leaders of Maine Coast Semester and other administrative staff to ensure shared understanding and goals within a robust recruitment team.

- Location: Wiscasset, Maine (On Campus)
- Reports to: Director of Maine Coast Semester
- Direct Reports: Associate Director of Admissions
- Schedule : Full time, Year-Round
- Salary: $62,500 - 66,000 (based on qualifications)
- Benefits: health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, long term disability, 403B retirement plan, meal provided (when on campus), and access to professional development funds.

Summary Of Responsibilities
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with families, sending schools, significant organizations, and individuals critical to building a robust admissions pool.
- Promote, recruit, and enroll semester students (grade 11) with support from the program’s leadership, advancement, communications, and marketing departments.
- Support and uphold a mission-aligned financial aid policy.
- 3-5+ years of admissions and/or enrollment management experience in an independent school or higher education environment preferred.
- A track record of progressive leadership and management experience in a highly competitive school market.
- Financial aid philosophy development and management experience preferred.
- Marketing, messaging, and public speaking experience targeting multiple audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate within a complex organizational structure and with external partners.
- Proven ability to model an “all-in” attitude within a workplace that requires leaders to engage in both big-picture strategic thinking, as well as the completion of day-to-day clerical tasks.
- Familiarity with and willingness to learn varied software applications.
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check including Motor Vehicle Record.
- Must complete fingerprinting requirements of Maine Department of Education.
