Unitek Learning is looking for a 100% remote Director of Academic Operations to join our team.

The Director of Academic Operations functions as a catalyst for Unitek Learning functional areas and verticals in translating most critical academic and student services external regulations and internal policies into standard operational and technological processes and procedures related to student record management. The Director of Academic Operations works closely with Operations, Registrars, Admissions, Academics, Student Financial Services, Career Services and Campus Leadership to ensure regulatory, academic records and policy compliance. The Director keeps informed on federal, state, and accreditation regulations and works with the campuses on the application of those regulations for compliance and accreditation purposes. The Director also helps establish and maintain procedures and best practices regarding student management. The Director will also be a key component in training academic leadership in reports, systems, new programs and any inter-department training that is needed.

Job Description

  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures to support Unitek Learning’s institutions, including implementation and training of staff members
  • Maintains and manages the integrity of academic records in CampusNexus and performs CampusNexus compliance audits to ensure data accuracy among Unitek campuses
  • Oversees the Registrar and Transcript Evaluation verticals to ensure departmental staff are maintaining institutional integrity and following regulatory guidelines
  • Supports Academics, Campus Leadership, Operations, Admissions, Student Finance, Compliance, and Career Services in ensuring the accuracy of student records within their processes
  • Monitors all Registrar functions to ensure compliance and accuracy in student record management and maintenance, including meeting all applicable accreditation standards of programmatic, state, institutional, and federal regulatory bodies.
  • Assists in the BSN Program selection and ranking process
  • Monitors student outcomes to assist Academic Leadership in identifying key areas of opportunity for student success.
  • Reviews and monitors overall campus specific practices and offers guidance and support to ensure consistency and accountability
  • Works with system affiliates to ensure that the institutions needs are being fulfilled and that report and product customization is occurring to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Supports build-out of programs in platforms such as CampusNexus, CANVAS, Anthology and ensures consistency in the Academic Structure of these systems
  • Manages Academic Calendars, faculty utilization and collaborates with Academic Leadership to approve and create additional course and cohort additions.
  • Works with vertical heads and compliance on Catalog, Student Handbook creation and maintenance to ensure that catalog information and student record policies and procedures align at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive and innovative experience in Academic Records, Academics, Institutional Compliance or related field
  • Experience with Campus Management system with an emphasis on working with end-users
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Excellent judgment, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage, perform and prioritize multiple complex information-intensive tasks
  • Organizational & strategic agility
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional decorum
  • Proficient use of Windows computer systems
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential
  • Ability to provide flexible and adaptable work schedules, up to 50% travel
