Ayers Career College is seeking a Director of Academic Affairs. This highly motivated individual will take charge of all aspects of the student experience from informational seminars to personal barriers that must be overcome. Our Director of Academic Affairs should be compassionate, intelligent, and committed to quality educational and occupational outcomes for all students.

Ayers Career College has been preparing students of the Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas areas for successful and in-demand careers since 1953. With six decades worth of history training students for new careers, we are one of the oldest and longest serving Shreveport colleges today.
Preferred qualified candidates should have:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or similar field
- 5+ years of education experience
- Successful track record of energetic leadership, accomplishments, and vision
- Planning and creative problem-solving skills
- Great skill in organization and maintenance of curriculum
- Develop and maintain curriculum across all Ayers programs including Heating/Air-Conditioning, Information Technology Specialist, Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, and Healthcare Administration Assistant
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with employers for the purposes of clinical and graduate placement
- Coordinate textbook selection, review, and implementation
- Organize seminars and guest speakers on topics directly relevant to Ayers students such as: Budgeting, Stress Management, and Career Progression
- Meet with students one-on-one to determine needs and best practices
- Participate in Career Development courses, new student orientations and graduate commencement ceremonies
- Provide resources to students and graduates to assist in their job search
- Train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of instructors and Program Coordinators
- Evaluate and support student progress and success
- Personal and Academic Counseling
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Leadership skills to motivate and coach students
- Curriculum Development and Evaluation
- Professional Development for Instructors
